UAHuntsville atmospheric science/ESS graduate students Clair Herdy, left, and Tiffany Keeton were the lead authors on an award-winning poster presented recently at the Rocket City Geospatial and Alabama GIS Conference. Keeton and Herdy are both former participants in the ESS Panama study abroad program; Keeton attended twice, once as an undergraduate student and once as a graduate student. They are both interns in NASA's Develop program, working at the SERVIR lab in Cramer Research Hall. Working with scientists from NASA and UAB, they are evaluating possible relationships between land cover and tornado genesis in Alabama. Their poster placed third in the conference student poster competition.
